Biography

Jacques di Costanzo is a French vibraphone and piano player, music teacher and a composer performing worldwide.

He was born in Paris where he studied at the Conservatoire and at jazz school  before he obtained a Masters degree in musicology and a state diploma (D.E.) both specialized in jazz.

In 2007, after 10 years playing in France, he starts a long musical trip that leads him through 12 europeans countries and a number of cities, like La Habana, Nueva York, Quebec, Tulum and Mexico City where he settles for 7 years.

Throughout this journey, initiated with his friend, sax player Adrian Chaillou, he improves his practice of jazz, incorporates other styles and falls in love with latin music, his collaboration with Arturo Sandoval being highly influential on  his immersion in the genre.

in parallel Jacques teaches vibraphone, piano, harmony and improvisation.

Currently he performs as a jazz vibist with Onda Road, with the Nicolas Sabato/Jacques di Costanzo quartet and as a piano player in salsa and latin jazz bands (LatinZsextet, Sonora Movimiento).

He is often required as a sideman for many artists of various genres, such as The Big Hustle (funk), Natalia Lafourcade (pop) or Jorge Pardo (flamenco jazz) with whom he'll be sharing the stage of the Ibiza Jazz Festival next summer.
